Your own software team, without building one.
Your business runs on custom software: a customer portal, an ops tool, a mobile app, and the integrations that tie it all together. Autopilot gives you a senior, AI-enabled team that keeps it running, secure and getting better, for a predictable monthly fee.
Pick the altitude that fits.
Both plans include monitoring, security, upgrades and documentation. Climb adds reserved capacity to keep improving your software every month.
Cruise

Stable software that mainly needs to keep running safely.
- Monitoring, backups and incident investigation
- Security patches, upgrades and release checks
- Living documentation and continuity
- Next-business-day response
- Quarterly roadmap review
Climb
Care & Improvements
Active software with a steady flow of requests and new ideas.
- Everything in Cruise
- Reserved monthly capacity for smaller features and integrations
- Faster response for urgent issues
- Monthly planning and regular demos
We price each plan to fit your software. Monthly rates depend on its size, how often it changes and the response times you need, and you'll get a firm quote before you commit.
Typical setup: $20,000–$40,000 for an existing application, $35,000–$75,000 for a new product. What setup includes.
Your software runs the business. Nobody runs your software.
A full-time development team doesn't make sense for every company. But custom software doesn't look after itself.
Maybe a previous vendor built it, or an employee who has since moved on. Now upgrades get pushed back, small requests pile up, and everyone is a little afraid to touch it. When something breaks, you're not sure who to call.
AI-assisted engineering changes the math. A small senior Waypoint team can now do what used to take a much larger one, so you get a whole team's skills for less than the cost of one hire.
Autopilot is built for
- Companies of roughly 20–500 people that depend on custom software
- Teams with no developers, or one or two who are stretched thin
- Software built by a previous vendor or former employee
- Leaders tired of deferred upgrades and surprise outages
- Anyone who depends on one person who "knows how it works"
Everything a software team does, in one monthly plan.
Operations
Monitoring, uptime alerts, incident investigation, backups, hosting and cloud cost care.
Security & upgrades
Framework and dependency upgrades, security patches, release checks and access reviews.
Improvements
Reserved capacity each month for smaller features and integrations, planned with you.
Documentation
Living docs, architecture notes and a runbook. Knowledge stays with you, not with us.
Roadmap
A quarterly review of what's next, including where AI could cut costs or add value.
A clear beginning. Then steady care.
Every Autopilot partnership starts with a one-time setup. It's where we learn your software and build the foundation we'll run it on.
- Get a clear viewWe learn the business, the code, the integrations and the risks. Access to code, hosting and accounts moves into accounts you own.
- Build the foundationEnvironments, monitoring, backups, a release pipeline, and the AI agents and automation tuned to your codebase that let a small senior team run it well.
- Write it downA runbook, architecture notes and a 90-day roadmap. For a new product, this phase also delivers the first release.
- Keep improvingMove into ongoing care with a team that already knows your software.
A steady monthly rhythm.
No tickets lost in a queue. One channel in, a clear plan, and a report showing what you got.
Request
Send requests through one channel: a shared board, email or Slack.
Plan
A monthly call to agree priorities against your plan's capacity.
Build
We release in small batches. AI drafts, a senior engineer reviews every change.
Demo
See what shipped, on your systems, and give feedback.
Report
A one-page summary of the work done, hours used, uptime and upgrades.
Then it repeats. Urgent issues skip the queue, based on your plan's response time.
Eight years of code, back in good shape.
A medical device company needed someone to run and modernize an 8-year-old platform. We've been doing it for them since before Autopilot had a name.
- Production as codeWe captured their production environment in Terraform, so new environments come from the same repeatable code.
- A cleaner codebaseWe pruned and cleaned up more than eight years of accumulated code.
- Mobile apps brought up to dateWe refactored the iOS and Android apps to keep them in the app stores and make future maintenance easier.
- Salesforce integrationWe connected the platform to a new Salesforce patient onboarding process and its reporting.
- Documentation and testsWe added substantial documentation and test coverage to the existing code.
- AI throughoutWe used AI across all of this work, with senior engineers reviewing everything it produced.
Autopilot FAQ
Why is there a setup cost?
Setup is where we learn your software and build the foundation we run it on: environments, monitoring, a release pipeline, documentation, and AI agents and automation tuned to your codebase. That groundwork is what lets a small senior team look after your software so efficiently, month after month.
Why not just hire a developer?
One hire costs a full salary, brings one set of skills and takes the knowledge with them when they leave. Autopilot gives you a senior team covering front end, back end, mobile, cloud and security, with documentation you own.
What's the commitment?
A three-month minimum, then month to month with 30 days' notice. Autopilot is designed as a long-term partnership. If you leave and come back later, we'll need to run setup again to get current with your software.
What if we need more than our plan covers?
Move up to Climb at any time. Bigger pieces of work are scoped as their own fixed-price project, built by the same team.
What if you go away?
You own all code, accounts and documentation from day one, and an exit handoff is part of the agreement. You're never locked in.
Can you work on software someone else built?
Yes. That's most of our Autopilot clients. Setup is how we learn it quickly and safely.
